15 Mike Brown: A shadow of the player that starred against Wales two weeks ago and was replaced before the hour. 3/10

14 Anthony Watson: Provided drive heading forward but was abysmal in defence. 5/10

13 Jonathan Joseph: Anomynous. 4/10

12 Owen Farrell: England's best player again. 8/10

11 Jonny May: Carried hard whenever he had possession. You couldn't fault his effort, but he ran into a blue brick wall as Scotland came out on top. He wasn't the only one on his team to do so, either. 5/10

10 George Ford: Constantly under pressure with ball-in-hand and found a few blind alleys, but for the most part remained calm. 6.5/10

9 Danny Care: Nothing special. The men in white are missing Ben Youngs for sure. 6/10

8 Nathan Hughes: Didn't provide the ballast England would have been looking for. Not bad for his first game back but was clearly lacking match fitness. 6/10

7 Chris Robshaw: Didn't have as much breakdown joy here compared to when the two sides met in Twickenham last season. 6/10

6 Courtney Lawes: Always a helpful target to have at line-out time and put in a terrific amount of ruck work. 7/10

5 Maro Itoje: Put in some big hits and was reliable in the lineout as always. 7/10

4 Joe Launchbury: A lot of effort from the Wasps man but he failed to get England a foothold at the breakdown. 6/10

3 Dan Cole: Failed to get any joy out of the Welsh pack and didn't offer much around the field either. 5/10

2 Dylan Hartley (c): Replaced after 55 minutes following another below-par performance. 4/10

1 Mako Vunipola: A lot of hard work but never really got anywhere. 6/10
