Five female rugby stars who are following in their Father's’ Footsteps

As the sisters of Wallabies prop Scott Sio and daughters of former Samoan international David Sio, it was surely written in the stars that Tina (lock) and Ana (prop) Sio would follow their family’s footsteps into rugby. The twin sisters, 24, are fast rising stars in the Australian women’s game.

The young girl watching her father, Brendan Foley, and brother, the late Anthony Foley, play from the sidelines never imagined she would one day make 39 appearances for Ireland at second row. She currently teaches at St Anne’s Community College in Killaloe and has put her expertise to good use by founding and coaching the school’s girls rugby team. 

The daughter of the England boss has been involved in rugby all her life, playing in her younger years before moving into the administrative side of the game. Having started in Japan, she worked at numerous clubs before becoming the Wallabies Team Manager of Logistics & Operations.

The Bristol Bears lock made her international debut against Scotland in 2018, and the 24-year-old has since accumulated 15 caps. Natalia’s dad Gareth John played for Penarth in the final Good Friday fixture against the invitational side in March, 1986. The Baa-Baas signed off in style, winning 39-14.
