France player ruled out of Scotland game with injury

According to reports from RMC Sport, the Pau midfielder — who has two international caps — sustained the injury during France’s 33–8 victory over Italy in Lille. Despite the setback, the issue was not initially expected to rule him out of training or selection, but it now looks likely to end his Six Nations campaign.

Head coach Fabien Galthié had already opted to start Yoram Moefana at inside centre for Saturday’s trip to Scotland, but Brau-Boirie was still called up to the national training camp in Marcoussis. However, he did not take part in Tuesday’s full squad session, leaving uncertainty over how long he could be sidelined.

The injury interrupts what has been a rapid rise for the 20-year-old, who impressed in his first two appearances for France against Wales and Italy. Brau-Boirie adapted quickly to the international stage and marked his debut with his first international try against Wales just two weeks ago.

His progression has been swift at club level as well. Brau-Boirie made his professional debut for Section Paloise on 23 November 2024 against Montpellier, after head coach Sébastien Piqueronies confirmed he would be fully integrated into the senior squad during the 2024–25 Top 14 season.

He continued his development on the European stage, making his EPCR Challenge Cup debut on 12 January 2025 at Rodney Parade, helping Pau secure a 24–15 win over Dragons RFC.

Later last year, he was also selected by manager Cédric Laborde for the 2025 Six Nations Under-20s Championship, underlining his status as one of the most promising young centres in French rugby.
