Here's a look at the best XV of players who are set to be out of contract and available to sign right now!

BACK THREE

15 Telusa Veainu: The fan favourite departed Leicester Tigers after failing to agree a new deal. He's reportedly on his way to Stade Francais, but there is thought to be interest also from Japan.
14. Tom Homer: A prolific points scorer from the kicking tee, Homer saw plenty of first team action at Bath this term before his release and rarely gave a bad performance when called upon. Still only 30 years-old.
11. Aled Brew: The 33-year-old Wales international has no intention of hanging up his boots after being released by Bath – believing he has three more years left at the top. Would be a useful addition to any squad.

CENTRES

13. Manu Tuilagi: Available after failing to agree a new contract with Leicester Tigers. The centre has already been linked to Bristol Bears and Sale Sharks, along with multiple clubs in Japan and France.
12. Kieron Fonotia: The 32-year-old Samoa international, who is leaving Scarlets, will make for great signings for somebody.

HALFBACKS

10. Simon Hickey: The former New Zealand U20 prospect notched up 92 points in 19 appearances in his debut season for Edinburgh after joining in 2017, showcasing excellent tactical playmaking in the number 10 jersey. If someone can get him fit and firing, the 26-year-old has all the attributes to be a worthwhile signing.
9. Nick Frisby: The 4-cap Australian international playmaker had made 21 appearances for Glasgow after joining from Bordeaux in the summer of 2018. Still only 27, he has plenty still to offer.

FRONT-ROW

1. Gordon Reid: The prop has won 41 international caps for Scotland since making his debut in 2014, playing in two Rugby World Cups (England 2015 and Japan 2019), and was part of the 2018 Calcutta Cup-winning side at Murrayfield. Despite unsuccessful short stints with Glasgow and Northampton, he still could make a good signing for someone.
2. Tatafu Polota-Nau: The 90-times capped Wallabies hooker spent 14 years in the international arena and moved to Leicester Tigers in 2017, and quickly became a crowd favourite.. The 34-year-old still has a lot to offer.
3. Tendai 'Beast' Mtawarira: The World Cup winner's arrival in Washington DC in February caused a mini stir in the United States capital. But, barely three months later, he is back in South Africa, the stint over and done with, thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic. Where will he go next? Who knows.

SECOND-ROW

4. Brodie Retallick: The 28-year-old is back in New Zealand after his Kobe Steelers sabbatical was cut short by the COVID-enforced cancellation of the Japanese league. However, the lock has rejected an offer from Super Rugby side The Chiefs to remain a free agent. He's reportedly having a bit of a break with his family before making his return.
5. Matt Garvey: The physical forward spent two of his six seasons as skipper at The Rec. The 32-year-old was out of contract this month, and having started just two games for the club under new director of rugby Stuart Hooper, was one of 16 players released by Bath.

BACK-ROW

6. John Barclay: Following his release by Edinburgh, the former Scotland captain is looking to continue playing but admitted he could instead wind up stacking supermarket shelves due to the freeze on player recruitment due to the coronavirus. The ex-national team captain stepped away from international rugby following last year’s World Cup in Japan.
7. David Pocock: He is another player that has not given any details about his future, and at 31, he may still have more miles in the clock. However, this was the final season of his contract with the Panasonic Wild Knights in Japan, and given the stress his body has been put under throughout his career, no one would blame the flanker for hanging up his boots early.
8. Sione Kalamafoni: His ball-carrying went down a storm at the Tigers and since his release, the 32-year-old is now being heavily linked with the Scarlets.
