Harlequins have released an update on their injured players, confirming that England prop Fin Baxter is expected to be sidelined until May with a foot injury. Watch the Guinness Six Nations at your local
Greene King sports pub.
Baxter had already been ruled out of the Six Nations in the build-up to the tournament. The 24-year-old had featured in England’s previous 18 matches and scored his first international try against France in last year’s Six Nations.
However, surgery on a foot problem brought an end to his chances of continuing that run.
He was also seen at Allianz Stadium during England’s defeat to Ireland, sitting alongside the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton.
While Harlequins have not provided further details about the injury, the club’s update indicates Baxter will be out until close to the end of the PREM Rugby season.
Quins’ final fixture is scheduled for 6 June, shortly after his projected return date. With the club currently sitting second from bottom in the table and the play-offs effectively out of reach, Baxter may only feature in a handful of matches before the campaign concludes, assuming his recovery goes to plan.
Baxter’s rise in the England setup has been rapid. In May 2024 he received his first senior call-up from head coach Steve Borthwick for a training camp ahead of England’s tour of New Zealand.
He made his Test debut on 6 July 2024 at Forsyth Barr Stadium, coming off the bench as a first-half replacement for the injured Joe Marler in a defeat to New Zealand.
The following weekend he made his first start as England were again beaten by New Zealand at Eden Park to lose the series.
In February 2025 he scored his first try for England in a 26–25 victory over France during the 2025 Six Nations. Later that year, in August 2025, he was awarded an Elite Player Squad contract by England for the 2025 to 26 season, becoming only the second Harlequins player to receive one after Marcus Smith.
Harlequins also released updates on several other players currently sidelined with injuries, which are listed below.
