Since arriving ahead of the 2022/23 season, Roux has established himself as a key senior figure within the squad, offering consistency and leadership in the second row. His renewed deal ensures further continuity in the Blue, Black and White pack as the club builds on recent success.
The South Africa-born forward played an important role in Bath’s memorable 2024/25 campaign, which delivered a historic treble. Over the course of his time in Somerset, he has accumulated 63 appearances and become a trusted presence both on and off the field.
Speaking after agreeing his extension, Roux said: “The last few years with this club has been some of the most enjoyable years of my career. I’m not ready to end it just yet.”
Now 34, Roux brings vast experience from across the professional game. He has featured in four major domestic competitions, the URC, Top 14, Super Rugby and the Premiership, and has earned 16 international caps for Ireland.
Born in South Africa, Roux began his professional career with the Stormers in Super Rugby and represented Western Province in both the Currie Cup and Vodacom Cup before moving north. He qualified for Ireland on residency grounds, made his Test debut in 2016 and later became an Irish citizen in 2018.
Bath’s Head of Rugby Johann van Graan praised the extension, highlighting Roux’s influence within the group.
“One of the quieter men of the team, allowing his rugby to do the talking on the field, he has developed into a very important player on and off the pitch for our club.
“We are very glad that Quinn & his family will be continuing his journey at Bath.”
