Joe Marler just did something amazing that might change your opinion of him

Marler was headline news after the long-running Samson Lee ‘gypsy boy’ furore during this year’s Six Nations – a comment which eventually earned him a two-match suspension and a £20,000 fine.

The prop was in hot water again recently after earning himself a separate two-week ban for allegedly kicking Grenoble hooker Arnaud Heguy while representing Harlequins in April.

But one Welshman has heaped praise on the England star following a kind gesture.

Twitter user Jordan Edwards has been working tirelessly and with little success or reward to collect sporting memorabilia for a charity auction.

Having approached current Welsh international players and a select few other rugby legends he remained left empty handed.

But surprisingly Marler came up trumps, not only sending him some signed shirt - but a test worn one. The jersey was worn on his 13th appearance for England in a 20-13 win against Australia on November 2, 2013.
