"Key positions" - Leicester Tigers confirm six new signings for next season

Aaron Wainwright arrives from Dragons as one of the standout additions. Born in 1997, the back-row forward has been a regular figure for Wales since making his international debut in 2018, earning caps in multiple Six Nations campaigns and World Cup tournaments.

Comfortable across the back row but most effective at blindside flanker, Wainwright is known for his athleticism, strong ball-carrying and defensive work rate. Originally coming through the Dragons academy, he has developed into one of their most consistent performers and a leader within the squad. Elliott Stooke joins from Red Hurricanes Osaka, bringing a wealth of experience at club level. Born in 1993, the 6ft 6in lock began his career at Gloucester before enjoying a long spell with Bath, where he became a mainstay in the second row.

Stooke has also earned England caps and has been recognised for his physical presence, lineout expertise and work in tight exchanges. His move to Japan added an international dimension to his career, and he now returns to England as a seasoned operator expected to anchor Leicester’s set piece.

Jack Doorey-Palmer signs from Harlequins as a developing hooker with strong potential. A product of the Harlequins pathway, he has progressed through the academy system and gained valuable experience in senior rugby.

Known for his mobility and accuracy at the lineout, Doorey-Palmer represents a long-term investment. While still early in his professional career, Leicester see him as a player capable of growing into a reliable Premiership performer with regular game time.

Joe Jenkins joins from Bristol Bears as one of the younger recruits in the group. A centre by trade, Jenkins came through the Bristol academy and has been part of England’s age-grade setup, highlighting his promise as a developing back.

At around 22 years old, he offers pace, physicality and versatility in midfield. While still building his senior experience, his signing reflects Leicester’s intent to invest in emerging English talent who can develop within their system over the coming seasons.

Joel Sclavi arrives from La Rochelle with significant international and European pedigree. Born in 1994, the tighthead prop has been a regular member of the Argentina national team and has competed at the highest level, including the Rugby World Cup.

Sclavi made his name in France with Stade Français before moving to La Rochelle, where he added Champions Cup experience to his résumé. Renowned for his scrummaging strength and physical approach, he brings proven quality and toughness to Leicester’s front row.

Mako Vunipola joins from Vannes as one of the most high-profile signings. Born in 1991 in New Zealand and raised in Wales and England, Vunipola has enjoyed a distinguished career with Saracens and England, earning over 70 international caps.

A British & Irish Lion on multiple tours, he has been a cornerstone of England’s front row for more than a decade. Known for his carrying ability, scrummaging and experience in high-pressure matches, Vunipola brings leadership and winning pedigree. Now in the latter stages of his career, his arrival is expected to have a significant influence both on and off the field.
