Leicester Tigers coach has been stood down from his duties

The club is yet to confirm his departure, but according to BBC Radio Leicester, his time at Mattioli Woods Welford Road looks to be over.

A former Leicester player himself, Everard made his way back to the club in October 2022 after his old side, Wasps, went under. He originally joined as a senior academy coach before stepping up to defence coach for the 2023-24 season under ex-head coach Dan McKellar.

Despite McKellar's exit, Everard stayed on and has been working under Michael Cheika this season. But with the Tigers experiencing some bruising defeats, including that 80-12 thrashing by Toulouse in January—their worst-ever loss in Europe's top competition—change now appears to be on the cards.

Tigers might be fourth in the Premiership and still in the mix in the European Champions Cup, but it's been a season of highs and lows. Their 54-24 hammering by Bristol in December saw them concede the most points ever in a Premiership home game.

Meanwhile, Cheika is also heading for the exit. The former Wallabies and Argentina boss will leave at the end of the season, with Leicester already hunting for his replacement.
