Leicester Tigers confirm new deals for three stars ahead of 2026

Starting off with Charlie Clare, the front row has been a career long stalwart of the East Midlands, having previously starred for Northampton Saints and Bedford Blues. Clare signed for Tigers in 2019, and has since made 133 appearances for the club since his debut against Worcester Warriors.

Leicester Tigers head coach Geoff Parling said, "I think Charlie has improved with age and is playing his best rugby. He's got a lot of love for the club combined with a great attitude to get better."

"Whilst being very thoughtful in what he does he also rips into training and sets the tone physically for our forward back. We're chuffed that he has extended his time with us."

Clare is the first of three Tigers to extend theircontracts at Welford Road, as Gabriel Hamer-Webb has also extended his deal with the club. The powerful outside back joined the club after leaving Cardiff Blues in the summer of 2025. His deal was initially for this season but the 25 year old will now be staying in Leicester after impressing the coaching staff in the East Midlands.

Hamer-Webb made his debut against Saracens in August and played three times in the PREM Rugby Cup. He was challenging for a place in the first team when he suffered a hamstring injury. Geoff Parling said, "Gabe was impressive throughout pre-season and in our early Prem Cup games."

"He's athletic, physical, and powerful and we’re really looking forward to firstly having him back fit this season and then pushing on a showing what he’s capable of. He has a great attitude and we’re sure is a player that is going to score plenty of points in a Tigers shirt."

Rounding off the contract news, Leicester have also announced that Olly Cracknell has signed a new contract with the club. The number eight joined the side from London Irish in the summer of 2022 and is loved by the Tigers faithful for his no-nonsense attitude and abrasive carrying.

Cracknell has not only impressed Leicester Tigers fans though, earning rave reviews and can now call himself a Welsh international. Steve Tandy included 'Crackers' in his first international squad and Cracknell won Player of the Match in just his second appearance for his country.

Geoff Parling said, "What Crackers has achieved is a testament to what you can do through being resilient and persistent throughout your career."

"He's the ultimate example of that by going on to be capped by Wales at the age of 31 and gives absolutely everything when he pulls on a Tigers shirt. He's also an outstanding human to have in the changing room and is a real barometer for myself of where the group is at."
