The 31-year-old tighthead will leave the French side at the end of the season after joining the club in 2021. During his time in La Rochelle, the Argentine front-rower helped the team win back-to-back European Cups in 2022 and 2023, and his deal was set to run out this year.
Sclavi initially moved to La Rochelle from Argentina in 2021, marking a return to French rugby after earlier spells with Pau, Soyaux-Angoulême (Charente), and Agen between 2015 and 2019. He then went back to Argentina in 2020 to play Super Rugby with the Jaguares.
He made his Argentina debut in July 2022 in a victory over Scotland. The following month he started for Los Pumas in their historic first win over the All Blacks in New Zealand, and he has since earned 32 caps for the national side.
Sclavi has now opted for a new challenge in England, agreeing terms with Leicester Tigers, who are currently fourth in the Prem standings. This season he has featured in eight matches for La Rochelle, including one against Leicester in the Champions Cup.
