Here, we look at five Leicester Tigers stars who are probably going to leave the club in 2021 as Steve Borthwick begins a mass 'clearout'.

1. Tom Youngs

The Tigers skipper signed a one-year extension last March. Although it seems unthinkable that Youngs could ever play for any other club, the 33-year-old is another player who has been linked with a move to Japan recently.

2. Tom Hardwick

The playmaker appears to be well down the pecking order of head coach Steve Borthwick. According to reports in today’s edition of The Rugby Paper, out-of-favour back is set to leave the club next summer with Bristol Bears reported as a possible next destination for the 21-year-old. Gloucester are also reportedly keen on him as back-up action to Danny Cipriani.

3. Tommy Reffell

The future of this prospect probably depend son his international allegiance with England and Wales fighting over the exciting back-rower. As former Wales U20 captain and considering the immense competition for a place in the England back-row, you’d imagine the 21-year-old from Bridgend will join a Welsh region and look to push for international honours over there.

4. Jordan Taufua

Taufua has quit the Premiership to sign for Lyon as a medical joker. The New Zealander has left Welford Road with immediate effect to bypass expectations that he would see out the season at Tigers.

5. Tomas Lavanini

The Argentina international has agreed to move to the Top 14 at the end of the season, after he struck a deal to join Clermont Auvergne. Capped 56 times by Los Pumas at Test level, Lavanini arrived at Welford Road after the 2019 Rugby World Cup and has gone on to represent the club on 21 occasions.
