A number of high-profile stars are in a race against time to be fit for the upcoming 2021 Six Nations.
1.Alun Wyn Jones (Wales)
The Wales captain is expected to miss the start of the 2021 Six Nations Championship. The Test record-holder for appearances suffered a knee injury during Wales’ Autumn Nations Cup clash against Italy last month. And after being assessed by the medical staff at the Ospreys, Jones could now be a doubt for Wales’ Six Nations opener against Ireland on February 7.
2.Jack Nowell (England)
The England speedster has not featured for the club this season after going under the knife for a foot/toe injury which he played through the pain with as Exeter won the European and domestic double in October. Exeter boss Rob Baxter doesn't expect him to be back until at least late February.
3. Romain Ntamack (France)
Ntamack suffered a broken jaw during Toulouse’s victory over Bordeaux-Bègles in France’s Top 14 in late December and was substituted with around 12 minutes left to play. And he took to Twitter to explain the result of a scan on the injury 24 hours later that means he faces a race to be fit for the beginning of the 2021 Championship.
4. Alfie Barbeary (England)
The Premiership player of the month for December is set to miss out on a place in England’s Six Nations squad next month after it emerged he will be out for at least six weeks with an ankle injury.
"Manu will be a loss to England and Sale," said former boss Steve Diamond. "He'll be out for six months. It's brutal what we're playing at the minute."
Suite à un choc reçu à la mâchoire survenu en première mi-temps du match entre le @StadeToulousain et @UBBrugby , les examens montrent une double fracture de la mâchoire. Je vais devoir subir une opération et être éloigné des terrains quelques semaines... ❤️🖤
