1. Springbok fan attacks referee
South Africa's 2002 Tri-Nations clash with New Zealand in Durban was thrown into chaos when a fan attacked the referee.
The two sides were locked at 17-17 early in the second half when a fan wearing a Springbok shirt ran on to the field and tackled Irish referee David McHugh.
2. Horrific punch knocks out referee
The player did get a lifetime ban in the end, with the incident also leading to the St Esteve club getting a game loss and its manager's resigning. The referee, who was put in hospital, also filed a lawsuit against him.

Whilst i dont agree with the spanish players actions at the final whistle. You can hardly blame them for the anger and frustration. They felt they had been cheated by the officials and rugby europe.

Owens was furious following the shove he received, and spoke to Mujati directly after play broke down with a forward pass. Saints were apparently shocked by the citing, but it looked a little unnecessary from Mujati in all honesty.
