Newcastle Red Bulls confirm signing of Argentina international

The 21-year-old is a versatile back, capable of playing at fullback, centre or wing, and has already earned four senior caps for Los Pumas after impressing at Under-20 level.

Standing at 6ft 2in, the Salta-born player scored five tries across 27 appearances during his two seasons with Bristol.

Earlier in his career, Elizalde featured for Pampas XV in Super Rugby Americas and started at fullback for Los Pampas in the 2024 Super Rugby Americas final.

He joined Bristol Bears in July 2024 and has since continued his development in the English top flight.

On the international stage, Elizalde has also represented Argentina in rugby sevens and was part of the Pumas squad that won the 2022 South American Games.

He later featured for Argentina U20 at both the 2024 World Rugby U20 Championship and the 2024 U20 Rugby Championship.

He made his senior debut for Argentina on 5 July 2025, starting at fullback against England.

A reliable goal-kicker, Elizalde adds to Newcastle’s growing Argentine contingent, with fellow countryman Franco Molina also set to join the Red Bulls next season.

“He has already made his international breakthrough and has a couple of Gallagher PREM seasons under his belt, but there is plenty more to come from him.”
