Bristol Bears have been rocked by a triple injury blow just one week into the new Premiership season.
In Sunday’s opening-round victory over Leicester Tigers, Harry Randall, AJ MacGinty and Gabriel Ibitoye all limped off — and now all three will spend extended spells on the sidelines after undergoing surgery.

Head coach Pat Lam admitted he’s never experienced anything like it:
“I’ve probably never been in a game where I lose three starters, top players, to surgery in one game, but that’s just the challenge we face.
If you look at all the Prem teams and say, ‘OK, take out their number one nine, number one 10 and their top try-scorer…’”
Lam emphasised the significance of the losses, highlighting the leadership and influence of Randall and MacGinty, and the try-scoring spark of Ibitoye:
“Harry and AJ have played so much together, they’re the big drivers of our game. And Ibitoye – everyone knows what he brings to our team.”
