The life of a rugby player can follow very similar trajectory. Unless you are one of the world’s biggest stars, many careers across the world retell the same story.
Working up through the youth teams, making a name in the first team, maybe a few loans and transfers and the inevitable retirement. However, from this point onward it can all become very different very fast.
Below, we look at the post career plans of five current England stars.
#1.OWEN FARRELL - COACHING
Following in the footsteps of his father Andy - who is currently head coach of Ireland - Farrell intends to go into coaching. Already in the middle of his coaching badges, he took centre stage as Mark McCall's right hand man during this weekend's 18-12 win against Sale Sharks.

Backed by a politics degree from the School of Oriental and African Studies (University of London), Itoje already has the tools to make a transition into the political world once his days as a rugby player are over.

The England and Exeter Chiefs winger is the co-owner of The Swordfish Inn back in his hometown of Cornwall. Sitting on the harbourfront, the pub has been a favourite of local fishermen, artists and visitors alike for as long as anyone cares to remember and is well-known for its rugged charm and atmosphere. The Carter & George practice clinic, which offers first-class physiotherapy and rehabilitation services, is the joint venture of George and experienced physiotherapist and best friend Rhys Carter. The England hooker has revealed he wants to work for the company full-time when he retires.
#5. MANU TUILAGI - ALCOHOL
Making a Tuilagi Gin was often talked about in the early hours of the morning by the brothers after many gin and tonics. As there are fifteen players on the rugby pitch, they have added fifteen botanicals to their gin. Some of the botanicals they use in their recipe are; Juniper, Coriander, Orris, Sage, Thyme, Mac cloves, Lavender, Rose and Orange peel.
