Exeter Chiefs welcomed Saracens to Sandy Park. The hosts started brightly, taking an early lead through a brace of tries from Alex Tissier. However, Saracens are rarely down and out, and they continued to battle back, eventually taking control in the second half after claiming the lead early following the restart.
Exeter Chiefs began quickly, opening the scoring six minutes in when Canada captain Alex Tissier crossed for the first try of the game. The score came from a charge-down, as Chiefs capitalised on a mistake by the visitors deep inside their own territory.
After a sustained period of pressure from the home side, Saracens turned the tide around the 25-minute mark, scoring their first points of the contest to close the gap to just two.
With 35 minutes played, Exeter maintained their momentum, which was eventually rewarded when Tissier claimed her second try of the match—both her own and Exeter’s second of the afternoon.
Saracens responded quickly, crossing for their second try just before the half-time whistle. Julia Omokhuale powered over, although Zoe Harrison missed both conversion attempts, leaving the visitors four points adrift at the break.
Half-time: Exeter Chiefs 14–10 Saracens
Saracens burst out of the blocks after the interval, taking the lead for the first time less than five minutes into the second half as Louise McMillan crossed on her first start of the season.
The visitors continued to apply sustained pressure and eventually secured their fourth try, earning another try-scoring bonus point.
Exeter Chiefs attempted to fight their way back into the contest, but it was not to be as Saracens maintained control through to the final whistle.
