Rassie Erasmus forced to shave his head after losing bet

The South Africa head coach took to social media on Sunday alongside Springboks scrum coach Daan Human, with both men sporting freshly shaved heads.

Erasmus kept the details of the wager to himself, simply captioning the picture: “The prize of a bet ?”

Exactly what the pair had bet on remains unclear, although the timing comes immediately after South Africa completed a memorable series triumph over New Zealand.

The Springboks wrapped up the four-Test series 3-1 with victory in Baltimore on Saturday, completing a hugely successful instalment of Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry.

Erasmus and Human have worked together within the Springbok coaching set-up for several years, with former prop Human responsible for South Africa’s formidable scrum.

Whatever was at stake between the pair, it appears the outcome has left both coaches requiring considerably less shampoo for the foreseeable future.

Neither Erasmus nor Human has yet revealed exactly what prompted the bet.
