Springboks boss Rassie Erasmus has another injury worry ahead of the Nations Championship, with André Esterhuizen the latest concern.
The 32-year-old lasted just 52 seconds of the Sharks' 36-21 win over Cardiff on Friday before landing awkwardly while competing for a high ball.
He was later spotted on crutches with his right foot in a protective moon boot, according to SABC Sport.
Not exactly what Erasmus wanted to see with the November internationals fast approaching.
Esterhuizen joins a growing injury list, with 12 Springboks players now dealing with fitness concerns.
Handré Pollard and Deon Fourie also picked up injuries over the weekend, giving Erasmus plenty to think about.
The powerful centre has become a useful option for the world champions, particularly with his ability to switch between midfield and the back row.
South Africa begin their Nations Championship campaign against Italy on 7 November before facing France and Ireland.
There's still no confirmed return date for Esterhuizen, and the clock is ticking.
With 12 players now carrying injury concerns and the Nations Championship fast approaching, Erasmus is running out of time to get his squad fit.
Another setback is the last thing the Springboks need.
