Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu makes Stormers return after overcoming injury

Feinberg-Mngomezulu was sidelined for last weekend’s derby victory over the Lions after sustaining a groin injury, but has recovered in time to resume duties at fly-half in what promises to be a blockbuster encounter in Cape Town.

He will combine at halfback with fellow Springbok Cobus Reinach and form a key midfield partnership with Wandisile Simelane, as the Stormers welcome back one of their primary playmakers for the sold-out showdown.

The match also marks a milestone occasion at DHL Stadium, with Damian Willemse set to make his 100th start in a DHL Stormers jersey in the team’s first outing of 2026. Suleiman Hartzenberg comes into the starting XV on the right wing, the only other change to the backline after featuring off the bench against the Lions.

Up front, Ali Vermaak starts at loosehead prop, while JD Schickerling partners captain Salmaan Moerat in the second row. Ruan Ackermann moves into the starting line-up at openside flank, with Paul de Villiers among the forwards set to provide impact off the bench alongside Adré Smith, Ruben van Heerden, Ntuthuko Mchunu, Sazi Sandi and Lukhanyo Vokozela.

Director of Rugby John Dobson highlighted the occasion and the challenge that awaits.
