"Sad day" - England legend Joe Marler retiring from all rugby

England secured a Rugby World Cup bronze medal last night at the Stade de France, triumphing over Argentina for the second time in this tournament with a 26-23 victory in a rain-soaked Paris. Interestingly, Marler, a prominent figure in rugby union, was absent from the Harlequins' front row during this game.

Renowned for his colorful personality, Marler has carved out a niche in the world of media, with a successful podcast and regular appearances on Talksport and various other UK media outlets.

In 2017, Marler, alongside his fellow Quin Kyle Sinckler, earned a spot in the British and Irish Lions' squad for their tour of New Zealand.

During the autumn of 2019, Marler came out of international retirement, earning a place in Eddie Jones' England squad, which reached the World Cup Final in Japan.

Marler reached a milestone when he achieved his 200th cap for Harlequins in January 2020, and the following season, he was recognized as the Man of the Match in the Premiership Final.
