For now, Saracens are keeping their cards close to their chest.
The player's identity has not been revealed, while the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear.
Saracens release official statement
In a statement published on their official website, Saracens confirmed:
"Saracens is aware of an incident involving a member of the Men's Senior Academy in St Albans on the evening of Saturday 10 October."
The club added that the player had been stood down immediately while a thorough internal investigation takes place to establish the facts.
Saracens also stressed that everyone representing the club is expected to meet the highest standards of conduct.
No further comment will be made until the investigation concludes.
Difficult timing for Saracens
The announcement comes just 48 hours after Saracens secured an impressive 30-7 victory over Bristol Bears.
England captain Maro Itoje starred as the north London outfit bounced back in style, with RUCK's player ratings highlighting several standout performances.
It is another off-field development for the club, whose new coaching setup was recently hit with a fine.
However, there is no suggestion that the matters are connected.
The identity of the academy player remains undisclosed, and being stood down does not establish any wrongdoing.
