Scotland announce rotated squad to face France

Loosehead prop Pierre Schoeman and hooker George Turner, both used as replacements in the round-three victory over Wales, come into the starting lineup. Tighthead prop D’arcy Rae also earns his first appearance of this year’s championship.

Jack Dempsey returns at number 8 after recovering from the bicep injury he sustained against England last month. His inclusion sees Matt Fagerson shift to blindside flanker, while Gregor Brown moves into the second row.

Vice-captain Rory Darge retains his place on the openside flank for a third consecutive match following his Player of the Match performance in Cardiff two weeks ago. Scott Cummings partners Brown in the second row.

In the back three, Darcy Graham starts on the right wing after equalling Scotland’s men’s all-time try-scoring record of 35 with his spectacular finish in the previous match. Kyle Steyn, who also crossed the line against Wales, switches to the left wing, while Blair Kinghorn lines up at full-back.

Captain Sione Tuipulotu and Huw Jones continue their established centre partnership. Jones enters the match as Scotland’s leading try scorer in Six Nations history with 18.

The half-back pairing remains unchanged, with vice-captain Finn Russell at fly-half alongside Ben White at scrum-half.

Among the replacements, flanker Freddy Douglas is in line to earn his second cap. He became Scotland’s youngest international in more than six decades when he made his debut against Portugal in November 2024.

Ewan Ashman returns to provide cover at hooker, while props Rory Sutherland and Zander Fagerson are named among the front-row replacements.

Grant Gilchrist and Josh Bayliss complete the forward options on the bench, with scrum-half George Horne and the versatile Tom Jordan also included as Scotland look to reclaim the Auld Alliance trophy.
