Six Nations 2019: Every teams best and worst player from Round 2

BEST PERFORMER - Sam Johnson: Ran another good support line to score off Finn Russell’s break. Looks a promising addition to Gregor Townsend’s squad.

WORST PERFORMERS - Huw Jones: Much was expected of Jones and he failed to deliver. A soft earful knock-on was indicative of how be played below his usual standard and while he went on to encouragingly break the Irish line with a run with the scoreline at 3-12, he couldn’t make his presence sufficiently felt on the half-dozen times he was in possession.

BEST PERFORMER - Jacob Stockdale: A fantastic run from the Ulster winger to score his first half try and some powerful running and tackling in loose play.

WORST PERFORMER - Conor Murray: Hints of nearing Murray levels of performance - a nicely stolen try - but his world-class passing and kicking game, taken as guaranteed before the injury, are still missing. The timing is off. The weight of box kicks not there. 

BEST PERFORMER - Braam Steyn: Powerful surge brought the first try of the match as he rammed through the Welsh defence. Proved a nuisance when Wales were in possession, particularly with his hard-hitting tackles, and was a strong carrier throughout

WORST PERFORMERS - Guglielmo Palazzani: The Italy scrum-half took his eyes off the ball on more than one occasion that led to turnovers and could have provided more danger around the breakdown

BEST PERFORMER - Aaron Wainwright: The 21-year-old back-row find is a real athlete with a massive engine who just keeps going until the end with his high work-rate and bone-crunching tackling.

WORST PERFORMER - Jonathan Davies: Being captain didn’t inspire him to rediscover his best form. Davies’ never really looked like a leader and his performance was less than inspiring, making just four metres from his eight carries and missing two tackles. He will have far better games than this during this Six Nations.

BEST PERFORMER: OWEN FARRELL - A captain's knock. Consistent with the boot, reliable in defence and topped off his performance with a try. He also impressively ran (METRES) and made eight tackles for good measure. A mention, too, for Jonny May, whose 30-minute hat-trick helped set the tone for England's dominance.

WORST PERFORMER: CHRIS ASHTON - Tough to criticise any of the England side in such an imperious performance, but Ashton suffered a quiet afternoon and didn't challenge the scorers before being subbed for Jack Nowell. With Jonny May stealing all the headlines on the other wing, Ashton made fewer metres than any of England's starting backs and failed to beat any defenders in attack

BEST PERFORMER: DEMBA BAMBA -Difficult to pick a 'best' performer from an underwhelming France performance, but 20-year-old Demba Bamba deserves more credit than most. The prop remarkably plays for CA Brive in France's second tier, on loan from Top 14 play-off contenders, Lyon. He made four runs, beating two defenders - more than any of his fellow forwards - and managed six tackles with no misses.

WORST PERFORMER: GEOFFREY DOUMAYROU - In an all-round poor effort from the French, Doumayrou was almost anonymous. The centre made just five runs, managed only 34 metres and found it tough going in defence.
