Springboks player ratings vs All Blacks: Rassie Erasmus’ side wrapped up a 3-1 series victory over their greatest rivals with another statement win in Baltimore.

South Africa completed a memorable 3-1 series victory over New Zealand after winning an intense fourth Test 43-28 in Baltimore.

The world champions, who lost the opening Test of the series, secured a third successive victory in front of 68,173 fans to claim the inaugural Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry trophy.

First-half tries from Damian de Allende and player of the match Morne van den Berg gave the Springboks the advantage, although New Zealand responded with a remarkable Will Jordan try after 32 phases to cut the lead to 17-14 at half-time.

South Africa took control after the break, with Malcolm Marx and Pieter-Steph du Toit crossing to put the world champions firmly in command.

Ethan Blackadder replied as the All Blacks attempted to mount a late fightback, but the Springboks refused to let their advantage slip.

A superb break and try from Kurt-Lee Arendse was followed by Cameron Hanekom pouncing for another score to effectively put the contest beyond New Zealand.

Beauden Barrett crossed with the final play for a consolation try, but South Africa had already done enough to secure a 43-28 victory and complete an impressive 3-1 series triumph.

A composed showing at the back. Willemse offered security under pressure and looked comfortable when South Africa needed to clear their lines.

14. Kurt-Lee Arendse – 7/10

Always looked capable of creating something when given room. He provided attacking threat and worked hard without the ball.

13. Jesse Kriel – 7/10

Another dependable performance from the experienced centre. Kriel defended strongly and helped South Africa deal with New Zealand’s dangerous outside backs.

12. Damian de Allende – 8/10

Physical throughout and useful when South Africa needed to gain ground through contact. His carrying gave the Springboks momentum in important passages.

11. Ethan Hooker – 7/10

Put in a committed shift on both sides of the ball. He was not always given much space but remained involved in South Africa’s wider attack.

10. Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu – 7.5/10

Handled a demanding match with growing confidence. His kicking contributed important points while he continued to organise the Springbok attack.

9. Morné van den Berg – 9/10

One of South Africa’s best performers. His speed around the breakdown kept the attack moving, and his try rewarded an energetic performance.

8. Jasper Wiese – 7.5/10

Carried strongly and provided the physical edge expected from the No. 8. He also worked hard in the defensive exchanges.

7. Pieter-Steph du Toit – 9/10

A huge contribution from the experienced loose forward. His work rate was outstanding, and his try gave South Africa valuable breathing room.

6. Siya Kolisi – 7/10

The captain led from the front in another physically demanding Test. His influence was particularly noticeable in the defensive effort.

Put in plenty of hard work in the second row and helped South Africa compete at the lineout and in the tight exchanges.

4. Eben Etzebeth – 8/10

Brought his usual aggression and experience. His presence around the set piece and contact areas helped South Africa maintain their physical advantage.

A solid contribution at scrum time. Louw did the less glamorous work effectively and helped provide a reliable platform for the forwards.

A major influence once again. Marx was powerful around the park, and his try came at an important stage of the contest.
