Supercomputer predicts Gallagher Prem Round 10 fixtures, with bad news for Saints fans

Using Sports4Cast’s algorithm-driven model, we assess every fixture and predict how the Prem table could shift as pressure rises ahead of a decisive winter stretch period.

Gloucester’s season has drifted badly off course, and with just an 18% chance of victory according to Sports4Cast, it already feels as though attention is turning toward next year. While a number of marquee signings promise a stronger squad in the future, confidence and intensity are clearly lacking at present. Being the only English side eliminated early from the Champions Cup has only compounded the sense of frustration.

Bath arrive in stark contrast. The algorithm gives them an 80% probability of winning, projecting a 34–20 away success, and it’s easy to see why. Although not quite as dominant as during last season’s title run, Bath still possess exceptional depth and quality. Sitting just two points off the top of the table, they remain firmly in the hunt for back-to-back Premiership titles. Kingsholm may help Gloucester stay competitive early on, but all signs point toward Bath pulling clear.

This looks set to be one of the matches of the weekend, with Exeter third and Bristol just one point behind in fourth. Sports4Cast slightly favours the hosts, giving Exeter a 68% chance of victory compared to Bristol’s 30%, and predicting a 27–20 win for the Chiefs.

Both sides have played entertaining, high-tempo rugby this season, but Exeter’s turnaround from last year has been particularly impressive. With Bath and Northampton just ahead, this fixture offers a chance to gain ground in the title race. Sandy Park’s influence looms large here, and that home advantage is enough for Sports4Cast to side with Exeter in what should be an open, attacking contest.

Newcastle’s away struggles are well documented, and Sports4Cast gives them just a 4% chance of springing a surprise in London. Saracens, by contrast, are overwhelming favourites at 94%, with a 45–18 home win the expected outcome.

Despite an erratic season, Saracens still boast one of the strongest squads in the league. With Jamie George’s retirement announced and top-four ambitions under real threat, urgency is beginning to build. A home fixture against Newcastle presents the ideal opportunity to respond, and it is expected that Sarries to do so emphatically, pushing for a comfortable bonus-point victory.

Harlequins’ unpredictability makes this a difficult fixture to call, but the algorithm leans toward Leicester, assigning them a 62% chance of victory compared to Quins’ 36%. The model forecasts a tight affair, with Leicester edging it 25–23.

Quins come into the match buoyed by a stunning away win at La Rochelle, though their domestic form suggests Europe may currently be the priority. Leicester, meanwhile, have more riding on this game, with a win potentially pushing them into the top four, especially with Exeter and Bristol facing off elsewhere. Even without the injured Adam Radwan, Sports4Cast expects the Tigers’ greater consistency to tell in a close contest.

This is a pivotal fixture for Sale, who know defeat would all but end their top-four hopes. The Sharks have been given a narrow edge, with a 53% chance of victory against Northampton’s 45%, predicting a 26–21 home win.

Sale’s intensity at home could prove decisive, particularly with the desperation that now surrounds their season. Northampton arrive as league leaders and in excellent form, having already shown they can win tough away matches. On paper, Saints may look the stronger side, but Sports4Cast expects Sale’s urgency and home advantage to tip the balance in what should be a fiercely contested encounter.
