LIST: The FOUR big Premiership signings who will flop

A fair bit of business was done by Gallagher Premiership clubs this season. Not as much as in recent years, but there were some big signings nonetheless - some shrewd, some questionable.

Below, he predicted four players who we think might not live up to expectations. Some picks have definitely struggled so far at their new club.

Hopefully, they prove us wrong and make us look stupid.

Following in the footsteps of a mercurial talent like Danny Cipriani, who was the Premiership player of the year in 2019, seems like a thankless position to be in for Hastings. He's got all the tools to add some dynamism to Gloucester's backline, but this is still a poor Gloucester team compared to recent years.

Will he crumble under the pressure in front of the Shed at Kingsholm? Being slightly controversial. we're going to say yes. We're also predicting he'll be back at Glasgow before the 2023 World Cup following a difficult stint in the English top flight.

Wasps are the club where high-profile Kiwi signings have often underwhelmed in recent years with Lima Sopoaga and Malakai Fekitoa both blowing hot and cold at the Ricoh Arena. Former All Black Fifita, who was once again heralded as the next great thing in New Zealand rugby following a stunning try against Argentina, is arguably the most exciting addition to the Premiership this season.

On paper, this is a great signing but you've always got to be a little bit sceptical of a players motivation when they cut their international career short in pursuit of big money.

If you take a brief look back through history, big-money signings rarely seem to work out for the Warriors as Ben Te'o proved to be a waste of time and money during his time at Sixways. There has been plenty of upheaval at the club with Worcester currently favourite to finish rock bottom with the bookies.

We're predicting and the difficult first season for the Scotland international with opportunities to get the ball in hand to impress limited. He won't score more than five tries.

Everything on paper suggests he will struggle with the physicality of the Gallagher Premiership - but aged 23 he certainly still has time on his side.
