South Africa No 8 Duane Vermeulen will leave Toulon at the end of the season, club president Mourad Boudjellal confirmed on Wednesday. The 31-year-old will return to South African side Stormers, the club he left to join Toulon in 2015.
"Vermeulen is leaving, he will be replaced by an international level player that we will announce in the next 48 hours," said Boudjellal. The player is rumoured to be All Black legend Jerome Kaino.
Rugby Inside Line has reported that Glasgow Warriors will join the race to sign Wasps flanker James Haskell, who is out of contract at the end of the season. Bristol, Gloucester and Northampton are all apparently interested.
The Bath Chronicle has reported that Kane Palma-Newport and Shaun Kinght have not been offered new deals by Bath Rugby. They will both leave when their contracts expire in the summer.
Gloucester appears to have fended off interest from Wasps to keep talented young wing Ollie Thorley at the club. However, Gloucestershire Live understands that Thorley is expected to remain at Kingsholm having received an improved offer from the Cherry and Whites.
Worcester star Josh Adams is being linked with a summer move to the Dragons after being called up to Wales' squad for the first time. According to Wales Online, the Pro14 outfit are pulling out all the stops to sign the uncapped 22-year-old wing after seemingly missing out on George North.
