Sergio Parisse has confirmed he will be staying in France after signing a contract extension with three-time European champions Toulon.
The 36-year-old, who according to RUCK sources held talks with London Irish -pre-pandemic, has decided it's best in the current climate for himself and family to remain in the south of France.
He has signed a one-year extension with the club, who he made 10 appearances for last season after joining last summer from Stade Francais.
The veteran back rower made his international debut for Italy in 2002 and has led from the front for his country since going on to become the record appearance holder in the Six Nations.

In 2008 he was nominated for the IRB World Rugby Player of the Year Award and is set to captain his country to yet another Rugby World Cu later this year when they head to Japan.
Toulon’s other extended deals are: France captain Charles Ollivon (five seasons), Anthony Etrillard (four seasons), Daniel Ikpefan (three seasons), Theo Lachaud, Swan Rebbadj, Bastien Soury, Erwan Dridi, Ramiro Moyano and Sonatane Takulua (all two seasons), and Anthony Medic (one season).
