TV star Nick Knowles becomes rugby club owner 

The DIY SOS star has been announced as a new shareholder in the Cornish outfit, with the club revealing that Knowles has already brought in a film crew to produce a documentary series highlighting the importance of rugby in Cornwall and the Pirates' plans for regeneration and growth following fresh investment from the United States. 

In a statement released by the club, Knowles said: "It's a very exciting time to be a player, or supporter of the Cornish Pirates. The team are top class and investors are seeing the potential of the club and the scenic, historic and proud independent region it represents."

He added: "I think a series that brings all this to a wider new audience can only be good for the club and Cornwall's economy." 

The move represents another significant step in the Pirates' off-field ambitions as they continue to attract new investment while pushing to strengthen their position in English rugby.

Knowles has long been associated with community projects through his television work, and his latest venture suggests he will play an active role in promoting the club beyond the pitch. If the planned documentary reaches a mainstream audience, it could provide valuable exposure for both the Pirates and rugby in Cornwall at a pivotal time in the club's development.
