Manu Tuilagi was set to leave Welford Road after failing to agree terms on an amended contract until new developments.
The England star was thought to be one of six players to have departed Tigers along with Kyle Eastmond, Telusa Veainu, Greg Bateman, Jordan Taufua and Noel Reid.
However, The Telegraph has reported that 'there has been a ‘change of heart’ amongst those involved in the discussions and there is some hope that the next 48 hours may see the 20-year Tuilagi family connection with Leicester continue.
They've suggested that Monday will be the final deadline for the England centre to sign a new contract to remain at Welford Road.
England head coach Eddie Jones has returned to England from Japan to help find a deal to keep the 29-year-old in the Gallagher Premiership.
