Warren Gatland is reportedly the 'only man' to replace Eddie Jones as England head coach if the Aussie is removed from his position.
Jones is expected to learn his fate next week when the RFU completes its investigation – led by the chief executive Bill Sweeney – into England’s fifth-place finish in the Six Nations
The review is expected to take up to 10 days to complete and it is understood players will also be given the chance to offer their views on a campaign.
Players will also be asked about Jones and any other potential candidite.
Sources told The Daily Telegraph following the 2019 World Cup that Warren Gatland “became the front-runner” to replace Jones, although the RFU insisted they had not made any approach for the New Zealander.
Ultimately Jones signed a new deal, but now the RFU are looking at other options once again as the contemplate their head coaches future.

During his reign as Wales coach Warren Gatland won four Six Nations titles, including three grand slams.
After this summer's Lions, however, Gatland will be without a job in international rugby and will return to his role with the Chiefs which should run until 2024.
If his first season is anything to go by, however, then he might be without a job in domestic rugby soon, too; his Chiefs lost all eight of their Super Rugby Aotearoa matches.
Meanwhile, Rob Baxter has today distanced himself from media speculation that he is the next England coach in waiting.
