The latest World Rugby rankings have been shaken up following Australia's stunning 42-38 victory against South Africa in Perth.
The Wallabies have climbed above Scotland into sixth place after holding off a remarkable late Springboks fightback at Optus Stadium.
Australia collected two ranking points for beating the world's number one side, moving from 83.55 to 85.55.
That puts them just 0.13 points behind England, who remain fifth on 85.68.
It could have been even worse news for Steve Borthwick's side.
Australia led South Africa 42-17 during the second half and, had they won the Test by more than 15 points, they would have collected an even bigger rankings boost and moved above England into fifth.
Instead, the Springboks scored three late tries as Australia were reduced to 11 players during an extraordinary finish.
The Wallabies eventually held on 42-38, meaning England keep fifth place – for now.
Springboks lose ground
South Africa remain number one despite the defeat, but their advantage over New Zealand has been significantly reduced.
The Springboks have dropped two points to 93.09, leaving them just 1.94 points ahead of the All Blacks, who sit second on 91.15.
Ireland remain third, with France fourth.
Scotland are the other big losers from Sunday's result, dropping from sixth to seventh after being overtaken by Australia.
Argentina, Japan and Fiji complete the top 10.

The updated calculations were reported by Planet Rugby, while SA Rugby Mag confirmed the Springboks' advantage over New Zealand has been cut to 1.94 points.
Australia's rise comes after a remarkable afternoon in Perth, where they raced into a 25-point advantage before surviving a chaotic Springbok comeback.
