"Zinzan's son" - 5 Standout Ireland U20s Players At The Six Nations Summer Series

Below, we look at five players who impressed during England's summer series.

Carr-Smith has impressed throughout the 2019/20 season with some strong performances for school and Club. A tall and powerful scrum-half, Carr-Smith is a real physical presence that consistently asks questions of the opposition defences through his running game. He has scored and created a number of tries this year as a result.

The number nine has significantly improved his ability to manage games based on momentum through his effective kicking skills and putting pressure on the opposition backfield.

As a nine-year-old, Lewis Chessum joined his brother at Sleaford RFC and began the journey which took him into the Tigers academy in 2019.

After playing football and especially cricket, he focused on rugby as a second-row forward and came through the ranks at Carre’s Grammar School and his local club to reach the Tigers DPP and then the academy.

He was part of an England Under-18 development camp during October 2020.

Brooke joined the London Irish Academy aged 13.

He played his youth rugby with Windsor Rugby Club and can play accross the back row.

Brooke has represented Berkshire at county level and regularly played for his school, Wellington College.

Brooke has also played on the international stage with England under-20s, making his debut in the 2021 Under 20 Six Nations and contributed with a try in a 38-22 win over France under-20s on his debut.

The loose forward's stock continued to rise in the following 2021/22 season, making his London Irish debut as well as representing his country in two further tournaments.

Stephens crossed codes to join the Falcons' senior academy in the summer of 2020, signing from Super League side Leeds Rhinos, and was promoted into the first-team squad in the summer of 2022. 

The jinking winger burst onto the Premiership scene with a try on his debut at home to Harlequins in September 2021, going on to score in his next game away to Bath.

A serious knee injury curtailed his involvement in the remainder of the 2021-22 campaign, but he made his England Under-20s debut in Spring 2021, going on to represent them again that summer in the U20s Summer Series in Italy

The back-rower joined the Leicester Tigers academy in 2018 after playing his early rugby with Nottingham High School and Nottingham Corsairs RFC.

He was part of the Tigers squad that won the 2018/19 Academies Under-18 League and shared the title a year later following a draw with London Irish in the Final.

Emeka was among four Tigers players selected for the England Under-18 development tour to South Africa in the August 2019.
