Saracens captain Brad Barritt responds to claims he will retire at end of season

Saracens captain Brad Barritt has rejected claims that he will retire at the end of the season.

His rumoured departure prompted speculation that Sarries are to join the bidding war to sign Lion Ben Te’o from Worcester to fill the void created in the club’s midfield.

But Barritt responded strongly, insisting that he wants to stay at Saracens.

“I have no idea where those rumours started, but you can end them right away.” he told the London Evening Standard.

“I am only 31 and still feel I am playing really good rugby. To win three Champions Cups in a row would be unbelievable.

“We know the journey that took us to the first title, and to back it up last season was a true test of our character and the culture within the squad.”
