Montpellier, who currently sit sixth in the Top 14, boast several high-profile players in their squad, including former Scotland captain Stuart Hogg.

Hastings has made 81 appearances for Glasgow across two spells with the club since making his debut in 2017. He featured 53 times during his first stint before departing in 2021, returning in the summer of 2024 ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

During his time at Scotstoun, the Scotland international has become one of the club’s most prolific scorers. Earlier this season, he joined an elite group of just six players to surpass 500 points for the Warriors, reaching the milestone in a victory over the Vodacom Bulls.

The 29-year-old, son of former Scotland captain Gavin Hastings, earned his first senior international cap against Canada in June 2018. He announced himself on the global stage at the 2019 Rugby World Cup, scoring two tries and kicking eight conversions in Scotland’s 61–0 win over Russia.

Glasgow Warriors confirmed that Hastings remains fully committed to the club for the remainder of the 2025/26 season and wished him well for the next chapter of his career in France.
