Semesa Rokoduguni and Marland Yarde have been retained in England’s 25-man squad to prepare for Saturday’s match against Australia at Twickenham.
The pair are competing for the wing spot vacated by Elliot Daly, who has been banned for three weeks after being sent off against Argentina.
Harlequins winger Yarde, who started the opening test of the series against South Africa, is thought to be the favourite to replace Daly, while Wasps powerhouse Nathan Hughes is the likely option at number eight with Billy Vunipola suffering a serious knee injury.
The group also includes fit-again Dave Attwood.
Harlequins back-row Jack Clifford is one of eight players released back to their clubs, including Josh Beaumont, Ellis Genge, Tommy Taylor, Joe Launchbury (suspended), Alex Goode, Mike Haley and Alex Lozowski.
A victory this weekend would see England stretch their unbeaten run to 14 games – 13 under the guidance of Jones.
The Aussie will name his matchday squad of 23 on Thursday.
