SHOCK: Danny Care handed surprise England recall

The Mail Online are reporting that in-form Harlequins scrum-half Danny Care is being considered for a surprise England recall four years after winning his last cap.

Eddie Jones, who infamously fell out with the playmaker following an Autumn Internationals clash with Japan, names is squad to face the Barbarians at Twickenham next weekend tonight.

The 35-year-old has been one of the Premiership’s form players and was named in BT Sport’s Premiership team of the season.

Speaking to The Telegraph in November 2021, he said: “There was no envy but there is definitely still jealousy being there and watching them play against South Africa, being in that environment with the crowd again,”

Care, who last played for his country in 2018, said. “I would have liked nothing more than to have been out there taking on the World Champions but unfortunately for me that ship has sailed and I can just be a fan and enjoy England play some great rugby with great Quins boys.

“I have made peace with England and I am so happy for all the boys. Some of the best memories of my life are in an England shirt and now I get to see the joy that the other Quins lads and their families get from playing for England.”

DID YOU KNOW? At age 11 he was invited to join the Academy at Sheffield Wednesday Football Club where he played up front with Jamie Vardy

#1. Danny Care

Former England start Kyran Bracken was the first person to reveal why the Quins playmaker was mysteriously frozen out of Jones plans in 2018 despite being a regular up until that point.

“He (Care) made the mistake of speaking his mind to Eddie Jones and questioning how he wanted him to play when he was playing with an England ‘B’ team against Japan in the autumn of 2018,” revealed the former England scrum-half.

“Eddie’s response to that was ‘that’s not the attitude I want’ and he binned him from his plans.”

This story was later backed up by England and Harlequins teammate Mike Brown in his column for the Mail Online with Care confirming he’s been blacklisted
