Ealing Trailfinders are the surprise early favourite to sign out-of-contract former England fullback Mike Brown when his current deal at Newcastle expires in the summer.
The Rugby Paper reports that the 36-year-old is a top target for the ambitious Championship side.
“It’s not poor me, but it’s the side of professional sport that a lot of people don’t see,” said Brown.
“It was an hour in the car park sat on my own.
“Speaking about the group of players who are at Newcastle, the amount of support I got from them was unbelievable. They were brilliant for me.
“If it was just me, I wouldn’t have emotion, I don’t think,” he added.
“It’s when you’ve got to go home and tell your wife that you’ve got to move again.
“So it’s hard.”
