Louis Rees Zammit has emerged as an unlikely star of the 2021 Six Nations.
The 20-year-old, born in 2001, became Gloucester’s youngest-ever Premiership player when he made his debut for the club, before becoming the first 18-year-old to score a hat-trick of tries in a match in December 2019.
And he has proven his worth internationally, too.
The youngster was called up to Wales’ 2020 Six Nations squad – before making his international debut later in the year – but has really made his mark in 2021.
The Penarth-born back bagged his first Six Nations try on his Six Nations debut as Wales beat Ireland 21-16, before he scored twice and collected the man of the match award as they defeated Scotland 25-24 a week later.
And off the pitch, the Gloucester man has found himself the centre of attention too; he unwittingly became a meme during Wales’ win over England on Saturday, has a following of over 125,000 people on Instagram and almost 20,000 on Twitter.
And on Tik Tok, he has over 16,000 followers, but countless fan pages and video tributes in his name have blown up, with the hashtag #louisreeszammit remarkably collecting over four million views.
