We reveal the rugby players with brains to match the brawn.
1. Toby Flood
Flood graduated from Northumbria University in 2007 with a degree in business management and has also undertaken a Graduate Diploma in Law, in preparation for his planned post-rugby career as a lawyer.
2. Alun Wyn Jones
The Wales, Lions and Ospreys man has over 100 tests caps, thanks to his world-class skills. The lock obtained a degree while putting in his classy performances for the Ospreys.
Jones began mixing rugby and text-books part-time at Swansea University, where he gained a law degree in 2010. So can Jones’ skills in the courtroom match his skills at the lineout?
3. Alex Goode
The England and Saracens fullback has a marketing degree from Hertfordshire University
4. Alex Allan
The Glasgow Warriors prop forward completed finally completed his academic journey after eight years with a BSc honours degree in quantity surveying from Edinburgh Napier University.
The milestone, which came in June 2018 comes after Alex juggled his studies with rugby commitments and an injury-enforced break.
5. Jamie Roberts
Wales and British and Irish Lions star Jamie Roberts added a medical degree to his list of accolades. On the back of the Lions' series victory againsy Australia in 2017, Roberts graduated from Cardiff University's School of Medicine
He then, after the 2015 Rugby World Cup, Roberts began a Master of Philosophy in medical science at the University of Cambridge. This entitled him to play rugby for Cambridge and he was selected for The Varsity Match which took place in London on December 10, 2015.
6. Don Armand
He attended the University of Cape Town where he studied Psychology and Human Resources.
7. Maro Itoje
When he’s not off winning trophies with Saracens, he’s at home in London studying hard for his BA in Politics at SOAS, University of London.
8. Josh Beaumont
The powerful number 8 studied Geography at Durham University between 2010–2013 and was part of St. Aidan's College.
9. Dominic Waldouck
Waldouck signed a new contract with Premiership side Newcastle Falcons last year, allowing him to study a Masters degree in Sustainable Urban Development at Kellogg College.
10. Will Addison
He received his Business Studies degree in 2014 after juggling his professional rugby career with four years of study at the University of Manchester.
