All Blacks great Dan Carter is a free agent once again after his stint with the Blues came to an end.
In April, he quit the stalled Japanese scene where he won a title for the Kobe Steelers on the back of his success in France with Paris club Racing 92.
The 38-year-old played 112 tests for New Zealand, winning 99 of them and scored 1598 points which remains an international record.
Here are four clubs who could be interested in signing the superstar:

1. Harlequins

There were reports that Quins could be interested in recruiting the All Blacks legend on a short-term contract. Having Carter work with exciting fly-half prospect Marcus Smith could be key to developing the 21-year-old into a future England starter. Cost would probably be the only issue with this potential move.

2. Racing 92

A return to his old stomping ground has been rumoured on numerous occasions since he left Paris in 2018. With Finn Russell likely to miss the start of the Top 14 season due to international duty and François Trinh-Duc currently injured, Carter may be the exact player they need.

3. Rugby United NY

The ambitious New York franchise has just lost the services of former French skipper and bustling midfielder Mathieu Bastareaud and are hoping to lure the two-time World Cup winner to the Big Apple.
Despite his age Carter would be a huge signing for the United States scene.

4. Bath

It's no secret that the black, blue and whites have been on the hunt for a world-class number 10 for the last 18 months. A move for their top target Handre Pollard seems to have stalled, so they may now have to identify new targets and it's hard to believe that an available Carter would not be considered.
