Transfer talk is a source of misguided optimism and confusion for many, and those pesky ITKs certainly don’t make things any better.

Still, there’s been some bizarre ‘legit’ rumours so far this year – legit being from so-called reputable sources (including us) that surely, surely wouldn’t make a thing up to sell a few rags or get clicks. Right?

It was suggested that the England U20 star, who has spent time training with Eddie Jones senior squad, could be moving to Agen from Harlequins by the French press. In an even more bizarre turn of events, this actually happened!

Reports from France suggested the 31-year-old could be tempted across the Channel by PRO D2 club Béziers, who are expected to spend big following a change of ownership. This was potentially just a ploy from Lawes agent with the lock signing an improved deal with Saints shortly after the rumour was printed almost everywhere. If so, clever stuff.

This rumour is almost a yearly occurrence after the Wales international had a tour of the black, blue and whites training ground a few years back. Multiple sources linked him with them once again, but in truth a move to England wouldn't really make sense and he ended up signing a new deal with the Scarlets

According to RUCK Sources, Quins are keen to land the fly-half on a short-term contract following his stint with the Blues, thought to be three months, for the start of the 2020/21 Gallagher Premiership. We don't know whether this is true either way yet, but it's certainly bizzarre.

It was suggested by RugbyPass that the England second-row might move to Welford Road on loan rather than spend next season with Championship-bound Saracens. However, Tigers boss Geordan Murphy shot down those rumours with 24 hours. This was never going to happen.
