In this post, we’ll look at the smallest players in the global game and ask what they managed to achieve in the game:
5 - Fumiaki Tanaka - 166 cm (5 ft 5 in)
He was the smallest player at the 2011 Rugby World Cup, and is understood to be the smallest player ever to have been involved in Super Rugby. Tanaka has commented that his size "is an advantage".
DID YOU KNOW: Tanaka has a tradition of shaving his head before the first game of the rugby season.
2= - Romain Teulet -1.65 m (5 ft 5 in)

2= - Marc Andreau - 1.65 m (5 ft 5 in)
He was a winger who plays for La Rochelle having previously been at Racing 92.[ He made his debut for France against Wales on 26 February 2010. He scored his first international try against Italy in a 2010 Six Nations Championship match on 14 March 2010.
2= - Grant Batty - 165 cm (5 ft 5 in)
Standing at 5ft 5in (1.65m) and 70Kg. Tough as nails in a tough era, he copped more that his share of swinging arms both home and abroad. A brilliant winger but with only 15 All Black caps before a recurring knee injury forced an early retirement. Not a lot of film around, but here's an intercept try against the 1977 Lions, Batty's last test match.
1 - Jacques Fouroux - 163 cm (5 ft 4 in)
The scrum-half captained France when they won the Grand Slam in 1977, and was the manager when the side repeated the feat in 1981 and 1987.
DID YOU KNOW: He won 27 international caps, 23 as captain.
