2023 Six Nations Round 4 Team of the Week:
15. Thomas Ramos (France)
Planet Rugby 9/10: "The French full-back was in excellent form at Twickenham, opening the scoring in the second minute with a long-range try. The Toulouse man orchestrated a try in the second half with a stunning break. Kicking off the tee, he made no mistake, and out of hand he was educated. It was a complete performance in the English rain."
Honourable mention: Liam Williams (Wales)
14. Damien Penaud (France)
Rugby Pass 8/10: "Showed his mettle in the frequent high-stakes kicking battles that littered the first half. A busy afternoon in the wet, which was topped off after he cantered around a knackered Freddie Steward who looked like he had lead in his boots. Bagged another a few minutes later."
13. Juan Ignacio Brex
Planet Rugby 7/10: "He came agonisingly close to scoring in the first half and was unlucky not to. His work rate was off the charts once again, and he was finally rewarded in the second half when he got on the end of Pierre Bruno’s offload to score. He has been one of Italy’s best this Six Nations and today was no different."
12. Jonathan Danty (France)
Rugby Pass 8.5/10: "Opened his account with a superb turnover 9 minutes in and showed a Manu Tuilagi-like ability to consistently break the gain line for France. Miles better than Yoram Moefana, who will find it hard to make it back into this team."
Planet Rugby 9/10: "Colossal. The centre ran hard all evening, made his tackles and even secured a breakdown turnover. His ability to punch holes in defensive lines makes Les Bleus a different beast, as they can attack retreating defenders. Immense outing from the Frenchman."
11. Mack Hansen (Ireland)
Rugby Pass 9/10: "A remarkable finish to beat Duhan van der Merwe and settle Irish nerves off and seemed to be involved in everything good Ireland did in attack. On the other side of the ball was responsible for multiple turnovers. A near faultless performance."
Joe 9/10: "Was denied an early score but showed great technique and strength to get over in the corner, on 27 minutes. Won a huge turnover, early in the second half. High aerial take and offload for Sexton was sublime. Won another turnover, almost had a third, and set up Conan with a lovely pass. Only misses out on a perfect 10 after falling off three tackles."
Planet Rugby 9/10: "A standout performance from the winger who acrobatically scored in the corner during the first half. He won the aerial battle for Irleand’s third try. Solid defensively again and earned the man of the match award. Rightly so."
10. Johnny Sexton (Ireland)
JOE 8/10: "Didn’t have it all his own way, but a full-on performance with some big moments when Ireland were up against it. Touchline conversion after the Lowe try sucked the air from the home fans."
9. Rhys Webb (Wales)
Wales Online 9/10: "You name it, he did it — and some more again. Set up two tries, the first with a superbly executed kick and the second with a dummy and good awareness. There was also a 50:22 and an important tackle in run-up to Liam Williams’ try. A zinger of a game, then."
Rugby Pass 8.5/10: "Put in an inexplicably fantastic kick for Dyer’s try and set up Faletau later on. Nailed an awesome 50/22 at the end of the first half. Fantastic to see Webb have a good game."
Planet Rugby 9/10: "Rolled back the years with a fine performance. Started quickly with a clever kick in space early on resulting in Dyer’s try. Capitalised on a hole around the fringes of the ruck and put Faletau in for his score. Stood up for his country when it was required most. Wales’ best player."

1. Cyril Baille (France)
Planet Rugby 9/10: "Another performance underlining his stature as one of the best front-rows in the world. Made 10 carries, five tackles and scrummed brilliantly."
2. Cian Healy (Ireland)
Rugby Pass 8.5/10: "Did a remarkable impression of a Test level hooker, which is pretty freakish from the veteran loosehead who hadn’t played at No.2 since his school days. Ireland’s scrum improved with Healy at No.2."
3. Tadhg Furlong (Ireland)
JOE 8/10: "Welcome back, big man. The Irish scrum had a tough day but this lad was fantastic across the park, in his first game since December 3rd. Big carries and tackles, and soft hands in attack."
4. Thibaud Flament (France)
Rugby Pass 8.5/10: "Made a telling open-field contribution for France’s first try and got one of his own after accelerating onto a fine Dupont pop pass close to the English line. His second was a testament to his work ethic, even if it was opportunistic."
Telegraph 8/10: "He was everywhere. Carried superbly in the build up to Ramos’ opener and barged over the whitewash for France’s second. Cantered over again."
5. James Ryan (Ireland)
Planet Rugby 8/10: "He had the challenging task of organising the lineout with the disruptions at hooker and losing his locking partner and a loose forward. However, he dealt with it with a calm head, keeping it simple. He came away with three steals at the set piece. Prominent in all aspects of the game. Dominant with his carries and tenacious in defence. Mammoth performance."
6. Peter O'Mahony (Ireland)
Rugby Pass 8/10: "It was a day for a player like O’Mahony, whose dogged performance was summed in when he threw the 6’5 Blair Kinghorn into touch like a ragdoll."
7. Charles Ollivon (France)
Planet Rugby 9/10: "The star issued another reminder of his supreme quality as one of, if not the world’s best flankers. He was key in the opening try, scored one with a rampant run and another in a messy ruck situation on England’s line, showcasing his rugby IQ. Outstanding in every sense of the word."
Telegraph 9/10: "Turned England over at a crucial moment when they tried to get their maul motoring and got stronger as the game wore on, crashing over twice."
8. Gregory Alldritt (France)
Rugby Pass 9/10: "A return to form for Alldritt, who hadn’t heretofore hit the heights in 2023. No quarter was shown to the English at the breakdown and the La Rochelle man won pretty much every moment in which he was involved. A phenomenal shift."
Planet Rugby 9/10: "He was a powerhouse for France on Saturday, making 93 metres in 15 carries, six tackles, and two turnovers won in key moments. Alldritt has become the benchmark for number eights in the modern game as he continues to churn out blockbuster performances as he did in this historic win."
Telegraph 9/10: "Made a barnstorming break in the first half and punched holes in England’s defensive line all day long. A gladiatorial performance."
