Tom Varndell has signed for French ProD2 team Soyaux Angoulême XV Charente on a two-year deal according to reports.
The club finished 13th in France’s 16 team second-tier last season, after winning promotion to the league ahead of the 2016/17 season for the first time in their history.
The all-time top Premiership try-scorer left Bristol Rugby in March this year to join Pro14 finalists Scarlets.
In a recent interview Varndell explained how he felt like he could play on for another two seasons.
“I believe I can do two more seasons at my best level, but we’ll see.
