TRANSFER NEWS | Goneva leaves Quins with immediate effect

Former Leicester and Newcastle winger Vereniki Goneva has left Harlequins after eight seasons in the Premiership to join French side Stade Montois.

The 36-year-old moved to Twickenham Stoop in July 2019 after being named Premiership player of the season in 2017-18.

Stade Montois are in the second tier of French rugby union.

The Fijian winger, who can also play centre, is a prolific try scorer, and will add even more pace and power to the French sides’ backline.

He brings a wealth of experience to the Club having to date achieved 55 caps for his country, scoring 20 international tries in the process, whilst in the Premiership he averaged a try every other match across his appearances for both clubs.
