French heavyweights Toulouse have landed one of world rugby’s hottest properties after confirming the signing of Italy star Tommaso Menoncello ahead of next season.

The 23-year-old midfield sensation has officially agreed a long-term deal with the reigning Top 14 champions until 2029, bringing an end to months of speculation surrounding his future.
Menoncello arrives in France with his reputation soaring after a stunning rise on the international stage. The Italian ace was crowned Player of the Tournament during the 2024 Six Nations and has continued to underline his class ever since.
He once again lit up this year’s championship, producing a standout display against England and crossing for a memorable try as Italy secured a historic first-ever victory over England.
A number of French clubs were understood to be chasing the highly-rated centre, but Toulouse ultimately won the race for his signature.
The move also marks the end of Menoncello’s successful six-year spell with Benetton, where he developed into one of Europe’s premier midfield operators.
Capped 39 times by Italy, Menoncello is widely viewed as one of the best centres in world rugby and forms a formidable partnership internationally alongside Juan Ignacio Brex, who currently plays for Toulon.
At Toulouse, Menoncello will strengthen an already stacked midfield unit featuring rising French talent Kalvin Gourgues, international centre Pierre-Louis Barassi and Argentine star Santiago Chocobares.
