Transfer News: Nottingham sign Ireland U20 star

Arriving off the back of three seasons at Leinster, the former Ireland U20s international Oisin Heffernan joins the Green and Whites on a one-year deal.

A 23-year-old who showed incredible promise at youth level, he was unlucky to not establish himself in the Leinster first XV, despite strong performances in the Pro 12 competition.

Green and Whites’ Head Coach, Neil Fowkes, said: “I am incredibly pleased to have a player of Oisin’s pedigree joining us.

“He’s proven himself at a very high level, including reaching the semi-finals at the Junior World Cup with Ireland in 2014 and playing for a top -class side in Leinster.

“I’m looking forward to seeing him in Green and White and I know he will be a very strong addition to our pack.”

“Neil Fowkes has made me feel so welcome and I feel I have a lot to offer to the team. I’m still early on in my career and a club like Nottingham is the perfect place for me to develop my game.
